The GRADE-Ombudsperson

 

As of October 2011, GRADE has and Ombudperson for its doctoral students and supervisors. The ombudsperson acts as a confidential advisor and mediator to whom doctoral students and their supervisors can turn to in case of conflicts surrounding their doctoral projects.

The position of the GRADE-Ombudsperson is currently held by Prof. Dr. Henner Büsching (Physics Faculty).

In case of questions or serious problems we recommend at least one coaching session with our individual coach before contacting the ombudsperson. In some cases a simple consultancy with the individual coach may be sufficient to resolve the problem. In other cases the involvement of the ombudsperson is necessary and, with the permission of the applicatn, he will arrange a mediation session with the other parties involved. The ombudsperson has the authority to make recommendations regarding further action. The implementation of the recommendations, however, is up to the parties involved.
